Out of the two weeks on the road, Deke and I had two days by ourselves. Friday we left Laura, Kevin and Kyle and headed south on 5 to the town of Clearwater then north to Wells Gray Provincial Park — a beautiful place with everything you could want. There are several lakes (Clearwater Lake): Wells Gray Provincial Park

waterfalls (Helmcken and Dawson): Wells Gray Provincial Park Wells Gray Provincial Park

historical homesteads (The Ray Family Homestead): Wells Gray Provincial Park

Marilyn Monroe look-alikes (we saw this one twice): Wells Gray Provincial Park

places to take guided horse rides: Wells Gray Provincial Park

and what appeared to be one of the most remote campgrounds I’ve ever seen about 50 km down this road:

There are 4 boat in only campgrounds at the end of the road, and 3 RV campgrounds (here’s a photo of one of the spots in Falls Creek Campground)

— and a cafe that advertises wifi, which is amazing out there. After driving to the end of the road (to Easter Bluff Trail -12.8 km hike along the lake) in the truck, I’d have to say, we might take the Airstream on it, but it was a long hard drive. buff The highlight of this stop had to be camping at the Trophy Mountain Buffalo Ranch. More on that in the next post!
